ON-SET & LOCATION EDITING

I’ve travelled the word with a live editing kit in my backpack.

The African desert, film studios in LA, sound stages on the A40 or even tucked away editing in a closet under the stairs in a tiny home that’s nowhere near big enough to fit a film crew!

Do those two performances cut together?

Did that technical plate shot work for VFX?

Does it fit into 60 seconds?

Can we move on?

Come over to my laptop and have a look!

Having an editor cutting live on set or on location is invaluable. Instead of shooting endless takes with your fingers crossed that one of them might work I am able to cut shots and scenes together live from a video playback feed and show you right there and then. You can move on knowing it works, spend more time on other shots and hopefully stop you from going into overtime.

If the job has a tight schedule, having an editor on set gives you a huge head start. I’m able to have an assembly of the edit ready at the end of each shoot day or for the more storyboarded shoots clients can actually sign off edits there and then.
